Secret to Making the World’s Best Chicken Fried Rice
“How to make the world’s best chicken fried rice?” That is a question I have been asked more than once. The best part is – there is no such thing as “the best.” It all depends on your individual tastes. There are some things that are definitely better than others, and I will share them with you in this article.
First, let me give you my secret
I was raised by my mother in rural South Carolina, and one of her greatest secrets was that chicken fried rice was one of the most delicious dishes she could make. And it was something anyone can make, even if they did not have a lot of time on their hands. My mother used butter and chicken broth to cook the rice, and then dipped the rice into it before serving. The resulting dish was absolutely delicious!
Another secret to making chicken fried rice that I love is that you do not need to use a lot of oil or salt. My mother used large amounts of both, but my children have come to think of her frying rice like grandma did – only better. They actually use a lot less oil, and find that adding spices to their rice does not make it too spicy. (And they actually think seasoning is a good thing!) So, they leave it out of their meal plans and enjoy their chicken fried rice (and fries, for that matter) without feeling guilty.
And finally, I give my secret to making chicken fried rice the most credit. It has nothing to do with the quality of the ingredients or even the time it took to prepare – for it is literally just what I like to eat. The fact is, chicken fried rice is one of my very favorite foods. I would be hard-pressed to name another food that tastes as good as it does.
And you can duplicate the same exact dishes to make chicken fried rice as much as you like
I usually will serve a different rice variation to people who order it, simply because they request it. (Of course, if you want to change things up just as much as I do, feel free to do so.)
Another secret to making chicken fried rice that I love is that you don’t have to boil your rice – which I hate! You just stir fry it in some seasoned rice. It is easy, quick, and you can vary the spices you use to make it unique. There are so many different kinds of seasonings on the market today that it is totally acceptable to experiment and see what combinations you and your family enjoy.
The final secret to making chicken fried rice that I am going to reveal to you is something I do every single night. I won’t give it to you straight. Instead, I will give you this one secret that has made my family love chicken fried rice so much. I always have some extra rice on hand so that I can prepare a huge meal for my family when it gets busy.
That secret is this: Keep an extra pot of rice on hand. Whenever you feel like making chicken fried rice, throw a small amount of rice into the pot. When the rice is almost completely cooked, add in one of those delicious vegetables that goes with rice such as broccoli or spinach. Then, serve it up with your favorite dipping sauce and you have a meal that the entire family is going to love!
