How to Make Vegetarian Dumplings From Scratch
It is not that difficult to how to make vegetarian dumplings. They are actually very easy once you get over the initial hurdle and know exactly what ingredients you need. However, you do need to be consistent in your cooking if you want to produce something that tastes good and is healthy. Here is a simple guide on how to make dumpling recipes for vegetarian diets.
Step 1: Get a firm tofu and cut it into chunks. You will now need to drain off the liquid and squeeze out the excess water. Your next task is to cut your TVP into chunks. Make sure you use a sharp knife and not a knife with thin edges as they will cut too easily into your food and the liquid will not seal properly.
Step 2: Put the firm tofu into a mixing bowl and mix it together with the other ingredients. Once all the ingredients are mixed, you can now start kneading it into the flour mixture. Knead the ingredients until it becomes firm and then add your liquid and egg whites to the mixture. Mix the entire ingredients well to form a dough.
Step 3: Now it is time to form the dough into ball shapes. Again, mix the ingredients thoroughly. Knead the dough for about seven minutes and then place it into a clean bowl. Add your white powder, mix it up, cover it and let it rise for another seven minutes. Once it is ready, you can now begin to roll the dumplings out onto a clean work surface.
Step 4: Now it is time to assemble your dumplings. Take your measuring cup and fill it with a half cup of water. Then use your large spatula to take a tablespoon of softened tofu and wrap it in sesame oil. Then roll it out and cut it into eight pieces that are the same size as your cookie cutter.
Bring a medium heat on your oven and add a quarter cup of vegetable oil. Place the two pieces of dumpling onto the oil and cook for about seven minutes. Once done, remove them from the oil and place them onto a plate. Place a tablespoon of soy sauce on each piece and then cover them in the non-stick pan. Heat up the oven and continue to cook them in this manner until they are done.
Step 5: Now it’s time to cook the dumplings. In a frying pan, heat up your two tablespoons of cooking oil. Use a pair of tongs to flip the dumplings and coat them with oil. Allow them to sit in the oil for about five minutes.

Add a teaspoon of sesame oil to this mixture and mix it into the vinegar mixture so that it completely coats the dumplings. Remove them from the vinegar mixture and let them sit in a steamer for about fifteen minutes so that their textures can become smooth.
The next step is to prepare the vegetables that will be used in the dumplings. The vegetables should be finely chopped for this recipe. You can use a food processor or a blender to chop them into little pieces. Once the vegetables are chopped, place them in a large pot or wok and add about one cup of low-fat or non-fat cooking oil. Bring the pot to a boil and then turn the heat down to medium heat.
