How to Cook Wild Salmon – Use Sea Salt and Lemon For the Best Dish

A question that often comes up in anyone’s mind regarding salmon is as to how to cook it. People have different preferences as to how they would like their Salmon cooked. Some like it rare while some others like it medium rare, while there are also people who like it fully done. Some prefer their Salmon cooked in a manner that it cooks quickly whereas some others prefer it to be cooked slowly.

Types of salmon despite the fact that the choice of types of salmon varies from person to person depends on the type of fish as well. The most common types of salmon are Alaskan salmon, Coho salmon and Atlantic salmon. These are the traditional types of salmon that are found in many restaurants around North America. Different varieties of salmon however are available in different parts of the world. Cooking wild salmon is therefore not a big problem since the type of fish that you use is irrelevant.

Wild salmon is considered to be best if it is to be cooked in a manner which makes it crispy and cooked with very little fat. This of course depends on what kind of fish you are using. For example, Alaskan salmon is the one most often used since it has the ability to retain its shape when cooked in the oven. Therefore, when you are making the preparation of wild salmon for oven cooking make sure that you keep this factor in mind. Coho salmon on the other hand has an ability to retain its shape when cooked in the oven or the frying pan. Therefore it is recommended for such fish to be used when preparing salmon for oven cooking.

First of all you will have to take care of the thickness of your salmon piece

For that you will have to poke holes in the fillet by using a knife or even a sharp chisel so that you can remove the excess fat that tends to cover the flesh of the salmon fillet. Once you have done that you can now move on to the next step of how to cook wild salmon. In the mean time, measure out some butter and mix this melted butter with some salt. Once the two ingredients are combined inside a mixing bowl, it becomes a simple matter of incorporating this butter mixture inside the salmon and gently pressing down until you have a nice even layer of butter coating everything including the skin side of the salmon.

You must then coat the entire fillet with olive oil. The olive oil will help to preserve the freshness of the fish and at the same time prevent the fish from drying out. When preparing this fish for oven cooking do not forget to reserve about 1 tablespoon of the reserved olive oil for when the fish is served.

Next, in the mean time you should prepare the four minutes’ recipe of bread crumbs. By using a bread crumb maker you will be able to form these crumbs into a shape that will look somewhat like a ball. Next, take your ball of bread and form it into a ring. Place this ring of bread on the top of the fish and crimp it using a fork. Crimping the bread helps to seal the meat together and also creates a better seal thus preventing the fish from releasing its juices which can cause the bread to lose its shape.

Now you need to take the four minutes recipe and wrap it up in aluminum foil

Next you will want to put the four minutes recipe in the oven at the same time that you are pouring in the ingredients for the wild salmon to cook. Allow the salmon to cook for three minutes. Remove the foil once the salmon is done. It will be ready to serve with the desired ingredients for a delicious home cooked meal that is both delectable and healthy.

The best way to eat wild salmon is with a lemon wedge, some salad ingredients, a piece of crackers or toast and sea salt. You will be amazed at the taste of this dish. It is both delectable and healthy, making it an ideal dish to serve for a family meal. A great way to make sure that you have enough food for a long day or week is by freezing your ingredients. This can also help if you are in a hurry and do not want to spend hours cooking and freezing the ingredients.
