Frugal Man Cooked Gourmet Seafood Dish in a Budget

How many of us have been forced to say “No” to cooking because we simply can’t afford the ingredients? I know, I was one of them! How about when friends come over… your food is cold, you have leftovers, you haven’t bothered to shop for the ingredients… what then? You show up to a friend’s house and say “Yeh, I got the frugal man’s favorite, but how did you cook it?”

Most of us would cringe at the mention of seaweed (and good for us, we really love our fish! ), but many people have begun enjoying eating starfish in a delicious casserole. Eating starfish in a frugal man cooked gourmet seafood dish in a budget friendly way means you don’t have to go crazy buying precut seaweed, nor do you have to go crazy cooking it yourself. This makes a frugal man’s dream come true.

I’m talking about frying up some fillets of tuna, and using some precut dried seaweed flakes to make the texture all but foolproof. All you need is some oil, some salt, a little cooking oil, and a few drops of your favorite flavor. Then you’re ready to go fishing, or barbequing, or whatever you want to do with your newly found starfish. As for that budget conscious guy or gal, don’t worry. The Frugal Man has a couple of other suggestions for cooking fish in a budget friendly manner.

You might be shocked to learn that one of the cheapest and easiest ways to prepare classic seafood, such as crab, is to follow a few easy, yet highly flavorful recipes from Eating Starfish. Why stop at just one sea fare; the Frugal Man can cook any seafood he can find… or just about any vegetable or fruit he can grab at the supermarket. If you’re going to try eating raw or lightly cooked shrimp, fish, or lobster, why not try drying them in a brine solution overnight? Dried fish in brine is salty and quite tasty.

Speaking of starfish, Eating Starfish’s starfish recipe is another keeper

With just a few ingredients from your local grocery store you can create your own “Frugal Man Cooked Gourmet Seafood Dish in a Budget” masterpiece. In fact, it’s so good, you may want to start serving it to all your family members. Simply combine four cups of low sodium chicken broth with four tablespoon of dry mustard, four whole cloves of garlic, and 2 tablespoon of dried thyme leaves and pour over the top of a steamer (depending on the size of your pot). Then, add in a couple of pinches of black pepper, a couple of tablespoons of dried oregano, and some fresh parsley for that final touch. Serve this delicious dish up with some crusty bread, and you’ll have lots of guests lining up for seconds!

The next star in my list of “Frugal Men” favorite foods is my Outdoor Stone Cooking. What is so great about this gourmet smoked seafood dish? Not only is it so cheap, but it’s so simple to make, too! And you know what? That’s not even an example of the three main ingredients found in our Cheap Healthy Seafood Recipes Collection. If you’ve ever tried the Healthy Seafood Recipes collection, you’ll definitely agree!

Now for some budget friendly ways to enjoy this awesome and healthy meal

serve it with some baked potatoes or yams, some low-fat sour cream, and a dash of salsa (if you like). That’s it – you’ve got the basics down, all you need to do is put your favorite seafood product on whatever piece of raw fish you want to cook, then sit back, relax, and wait for the delicious results. Or if you’re feeling more adventurous, try washing some boneless, skinless chicken and using some butter to cook it (the one I used came from a local market). And if you really want to go all out, cook up enough of a batch that you can freeze the leftovers in individual portions and keep them in air tight containers. This way, you can take leftover seafood whenever you feel like trying a new thing!

So now that you have an idea about how you can make this frugal man cooked gourmet seafood dish in a budget eating starfish recipe work for you, try making some other recipes. You might be surprised at how much you actually like it. And after you’ve made a few extra pounds of delicious and nutritious food, why not stock up on it? You can also send some of that leftover seafood packing to your friends. The leftovers will be fresher than ever, and you’ll have saved enough money that you can even buy another jar of this famous recipe in a different flavor!
