4 Levels of Pulled Pork Sandwiches: Amateur to Food Scientist
Pulled pork sandwiches are one of my favorite types of recipes. I can eat them cold anytime, and the family likes them, too. I love to talk to people about my day at the office, and sometimes I have dinner with my wife and we just sit and talk for hours. So, I thought it might be fun to share to you some of my favorite ways to make pulled pork sandwiches and share the techniques I use to make them so you can create your own versions.
First, I will give you the basics to making these. This is a good place to start if you are new to this whole thing. So, first, here is how you do it. You take your leftover pork loin from the holidays and put it in a large bowl. Now, you want to get rid of as much liquid as possible and add your seasonings.
Next, you take your breading and your seasonings and mix them together until you have a pasty like texture. Then, you spoon the mixture into your pre-made sandwich forms. You can use store bought or homemade ones, depending on what you like. Just make sure to make each sandwich a different thickness by varying the amount of breading you put in. If it’s too thin, your sandwiches won’t taste right!
The next step is to make your sandwich breading. Again, depending on what kind of sandwich you are making, this may vary. So, I’m just going to go over the basics here. For our base recipe, which is a sandwich meat, we need breading that contains no lard or oil. So, if you are using ground beef, you need to make a brine for about 24 hours.
You’ll need your dehydrator to make these sandwiches very quickly. So, if you don’t have one already, you need to get one before you continue. Also, to make sure your sandwiches dry out very quickly, you’ll want to place them in a single layer in your refrigerator so that you can put the slices in there after they’re removed from the oven.
The next step is to slice your sandwiches into quarters
Most food scientists recommend doing it at a 25 degree angle because that way you don’t have any knife bites. Once the slices are done, you’ll want to place them on a cooling rack. It’s best if you have an ice cube tray in your freezer to put your sandwiches on so that they can cool down slowly. This is one of the keys to getting those 4 levels of pulled pork off of your stove.
Now, let’s take a look at the level of dark meat. If you’re a beginner, or if you’re afraid of the dark, you should skip these sandwiches and go with lighter meats such as flank steak or turkey. It’s important to realize that this doesn’t mean that you have to go with no taste at all. Just stay away from the dark stuff and you should be just fine.
The last step is to assemble your sandwich. To do this, you should put the bread on a plate, and then put the top of the bread on the plate and then put the bottom of the bread on top of the plate. Then, using your fork, push the two pieces of bread down until they join together. Then, using your fingers, pull the two pieces of bread apart. That’s all there is to making these 4 level of pulled pork sandwiches.
Once you’ve made your sandwiches, you can experiment with different ingredients
For instance, you could make a sandwich out of macaroni and cheese. You could also make a sandwich with mozzarella cheese on it. If you’re into tomato sauce, you could put canned or fresh tomatoes on it. However, you need to remember that if you’re eating these sandwiches as food for your family, you should only eat them when you’re actually hungry.
As a food scientist, I love these sandwiches because they’re really easy to prepare and healthy too. That’s why so many people who eat sandwiches like these are foodies. You know, like the famous Food Network hostess, Trista Sutter? She makes some of the tastiest food that I’ve ever had, and she’s a food scientist. So, if you’re into sandwiches, and want to impress your friends, you should definitely try making pulled pork sandwiches.
